Forward Stance | 60/40
Forward Stance is a technology developed by Norma Wong that is a mind-body approach to movement-building. The core principles of Forward Stance are stance, energy, awareness, and rhythm. When there exists an understanding, both conceptually (mind) and somatically (body), more choice arises in how one chooses to approach any situation, including and especially with regard to social justice movement building.
Forward Stance was adapted by Norma Wong specifically towards movement building, from 60/40 Stance™, a technology and curriculum developed by Institute of Zen Studies Applied Program in Hawaii. Mu-I Taiji is 10 step form of taiji that is taught in Forward Stance as a means to understanding and relating to the core principles.
